Questions on replacing vert top

i have a friend do this and he ended up going to the dealer and p[aying them to do it, putting the top on wsnt quick, adjusting it took days and ended up having the dealer do it, they also charged him to tak off the first one. but when he bought the new top from the dealer they let him add some sound deadening before they installed the head liner. i think it was 1300 five or take.
