I have the rear calipers and rotor brackets removed from my 03 Z06 but the rotors themselves seem to be permanently attached to the car. Before I haul out the big hammer, is there anything else on that needs to be removed or loosened before I do that?
David,
Good to hear from you again. Seems like a long time since you were blowing by me at CMP. Got your blue machine ready for next season yet?
After replacing the front rotors on the fly at CMP, I decided to replace the rears during the winter while it was still up on the jackstands. Thanks for the info. Actually, it is a little embarrasing because I started it up for my nephew last night and forgot that I had engaged the e-brake to do that. (Oops!!)
You can also use a rubber mallet to free the rotor from the hub usually they rust a bit on the hub and get stuck, then if they are stuck on the E-brake shoes normally I can grab the rotor and shake it (rotate left to right) fast while pulling it away from the car and it will come off with out damageing the shoes.
