Default 2003 LS1 Automatic Sputtering

The problem started last night. If I try to put my foot into it, it will rev out, redline, the shift light comes on, and it starts sputtering violently. I have been told it could be the fuel filter, but it could also be the cam position sensor. At normal RPM's it runs fine. Anyone had this same problem? Any help would be appreciated.

If your are hitting the redline, the rev limiter would kick in and that may be the "shuttering" your are describing. So what your saying is the car is not shifting at WOT?

Default Yes

It will not shift. It just rev's out. The RPM's will fluctuate from WO down to the lower end of the redline.

That's the first sign of the transmission going bye, bye. Hopefully you are under warranty

If you are stuck paying for a new tranny (and plan on future modding) many people on the forum use a guy named Rodney to build a heavy duty version of the A4 with very good results.

I'll check the tranny out and cross my fingers. Hopefully it's not that major. Thanks for the input everyone

Yeah. This pretty much sucks @$$....... It is a good excuse for me to spend some money on it without listening to my wife bitch. She doesn't have to know I'm doing more that just a stock rebuild....
