Once again. what i do with those Bpp maf-ends with airfoils. My car is 98 A4 with vortex, 160stat and Supersprint exhaust. am i just paranoid cause im afraid of pinging :( i have no autotap or maf-translator (if someone can help me to order those and send them as a gift i think once again) how do i know if theres some badly wrong when maf-ends installed?
98's run a little richer than the 99-01. You should be ok to do the MAF Ends. You really should run an Autotap afterwards though. Maybe someone in your area can help. I love the MAF ends!!
Finnish. My 98 went lean on the Halltech 76mm maf ends (stock is 74mm). No airfoils either. I think with those airfoils you will not go as lean. BUT you should get a AUTOTAP to check.

that is the web site and phone number for ATAP. Great lil product.
I'm having the same problem with my 98. I installed the Haltech and everything was OK..Now I installed the TPIS headers and the codes are being thrown. What did you do to solve this problem? Seems to be running slower with the headers than before? Thanks!! George
I have a 98 6 speed also, I had problems with the GMS MAF, but after changing to the Bpp, my car ran much stronger. I think the 97/98's ran much richer than the latter cars, and these MAF's lean the mixture out a bit.

My 2000 A4 with Powerloader, TPIS headers, & GMS MAF ran just fine, but lately, I felt like it was being held back slightly. I switched back to the stock MAF with screens ^ reset the PCM, and WOW! Car flys now! I'm staying with the stock MAF sensor unit with screens. Apparently the Powerloader "likes" the stock MAF unit.
When I sent my PCM to Ed Wright for programming he recommended the stock MAF. Suposidly the stock unit can handle over 400 RWH. Took my BPP ends with air foils off and the dyno chart smoothed out also.
I'm just recieved my MAFT and Auto Tap today and I'm going to AT with the stock unit and then put the BPP ends on and Tap it again just to see what happens with the readings.
