First time vette owner question

Well yesterday i picked up my first vette. It is a RED 1998 with an auto trans. I love this car!!! I cant stop smiling when she chirps going into second.

Anyhow it seems that i have a problem with the drivers side headlamp. When i turn the lights on all seems normal but when i turn them off it sounds like plastic grinding. It is almost like it should have a limit switch that tells the motor when the light is all the way down but it
doesnt see it and just keeps running the motor. It sounds kinda like nylon gears stripping.

What do i need?

Sounds like its time for a rebuild of the headlight motor. Just completed the same thing on my 99. Changed from the nylon gears to the brass ones. Not really a hard job.
