Anyone know the difference between the B&M 45044 and the B&M 45057? I'm looking for a short throw shifter with not too much effort and one that doesn't rattle under acceleration.
B&M's have quite a high lateral force requirement. So much that I didnt like them.
Might want to look at a Hurst or a C6 shifter.

Maybe the old ripper, but the new precision 45044 is GREAT!! Not much more effort than stock, & 40% shorter throws. I've had mine in (w/ MGW Gripper ****) for around a month, & love it. I say go with the 45044 from http://www.corvettesofhouston.com/pr...products_id=69

This looks almost identical to the stock shifter, including the rubber vibration dampener, which is what makes the stock shifter feel rubbery and imprecise.
I guess they get a shorter throw by changing the pivot point, but it seems like a shortened stock shifter would produce about the same results. I shortened the stock shifter and it improved the throw, but it still did not feel as positive as the Hurst.
