I have a 99 6 speed coupe. I recently installed the Borla Stinger Quad Exhaust. I want to eliminate the popping. The crossover pipes evidently require cutting the factory exhaust pipes between the Cat coverters and where the Borla bolts on...is this correct? I installed the Borla at home by jacking up the car. What is the best way to cut the factory exhaust and install a crossover pipe. Is removing the middle section of pipe from the headers, sensors etc. that big of a deal? Thanks for taking the time to reply,

Reason: Removing the mid pipe from headers?
It's not too bad. Just jack up both ends, crawl under and take the
entire mid-pipe out - unbolt it at the headers up front, and the
flanges where your Borlas attach. unplug the O2 sensors and
drop the whole mid-pipe.
When you cut the pipe, measure real carefully, so you can slip the x-pipe on and adjust to proper length before clamping. Easy.
oh, be careful with those front pipe-to-manifold nuts, use lots of
penetrating oil, they tend to rust and strip coming off.
I recently installed the Borla Stinger Exhaust with crossover pipes. Paid $ 126.00 too Auto Tire. They have the tools and time 30min. Required cutting the factory exhaust pipes between the Cat coverters. Installing crossover pipe at home is not practical and they will get it right/did not have to unbolt headers.
