Jack stands for S/C install

Jack stands for S/C install

So i am soon to be installing my new blower and some LG longtubes. I am planning on also painting my calipers while the car is up in the air. My question is, is it safe to leave the car up on jack stands for a few weeks ( i dont have time to do all the installation in one shot), or should it be dropped back onto the tires when not being worked on? What is everyone using between the jackstands and the crossmembers?

I've had mine on jacks for a couple of week using the inserts at the jacking points.

Mine sits up in the air on a twin post hoist for most of the winter, except for a few days now and then when I need the hoist for something else.

Okie doke, sounds good. Are the crossmembers the place to use for the jackstands? You just use a wood block or something else between the jackstand and the crossmember?
