Default Old pump pressure

Just got my motor redone on my 2004 vette. Oil pressure is 9 to 11 psi on idol. Shop tells me that's OK. I say is not. I say it should be 25 to 27 on idol. I don't think the motor was done rite. I think it could be a bad oil pump. They also tell me that the machine shop say's it OK.

I'm Not Happy need help.

Thanks Corvette Family

sounds like it has too much clearance in the bearings. That is very low for a new engine. I also would worry.

oil pressure is too low,be it bearing clearances, solid lifters, etc. more than likely though the o-ring that goes on the pick-up tube to the oil pump is cut[if the motor is knocking/clicking/tapping/etc].if the o-ring is not cut,you have motor problems.

I just did heads/cam and replaced the stock oil pump with a ported LS6 pump. My pressure at idle is 40+. Responses above sound right, but what a PITA to go back into the engine and fix it. Hope you can convince the shop to do it.
