LS2 heads are the same port design as LS6 heads. I think they are the same castings... Just the LS2 heads have solid valves where the LS6 heads have hollow valves..

I can tell you what they are worth in a few weeks. I placed my order today for LS2 heads and a TSP cam. From the dyno charts I have seen the LS6 (LS2) heads will actually support some pretty hearty setups. To each his own, I am not trying to make a 10 sec car.

I think i heard somewhere that they use a slightly different legnth valve then the LS6 head and therefore need a different legnth pushrod. Anybody else read that anywyere? Or am i just dreaming crap up? lol
I was just checking your dyno link on the "before and after LG header swap". Was that all that was done to get the extra 31 hp/38 torque? Was the rest of the exhaust stock? Was there a tune done after the swap?
Nice numbers if it was only the headers. Is that typical for that upgrade?
I'll be interested to hear the details.
Thanks,
Keith

Shane's numbers are about right for LG LTs with a tune. With that setup, I went from 310 rwhp/328 rwtq to 340 rwhp/354 rwtq. That's on an 02 MN6 with hi-flow cats and LG doing the tuning.
the 2001 valves are not sodium filled, and the the valves are the same length as ls1, the .525 cam doens't use a different base circle, correct me if i'm wrong

Thanks for the assist.
Yep, headers & tune. Not bad for a ~100k mile car that was stock its whole life before i got it.

the 243 castings are the same 01-06, 'castings'
I believe in 02 the casting changed very very slightly but still kept the #243 casting number. That's also when the LS6 started coming with the Yellow springs if i remember correctly. Although I could be wrong on that one.

I just bought a set of NEW LS6 heads from a forum member who purchased the 04 crate engine over a year and a half ago- the springs are not yellow, they are steel color with a blue paint line down one side. They are casting number "243" so I guess GM has is was switching springs on engines.
