So I got a great deal on a set of Ti's here on the board (thanks ryanc440). I read about installing them and I guess it is a bit crazy having the car 32 inches in the air! But, once its in place - its a 10 min job.
Pics are always good - so heres some pics
How about using shingles to drive the front up on LOL
Still not high enough...
So, there on and yeah the car cover hasnt come in yet but THEY ARE SO CROOKED! Any tricks to get this right?
I tried for like an hour trying to somehow even them out. I had expected factory pieces to fit perfect. Hmm...
You can also try to loosen the flange bolts, and adjust them that way...
IS THAT A HONDA PAINTED LIKE A GRAND SPORT????
-=Rick
I did try loosening the flanges - no luck. I also tried using washers... Its not so much that the left side is lower, but the right side is angled up in the middle.
The Honda... yeah, I was always a fan of the Grand Sport. My dad had one (#19) at the time so I took the paint code from it.
Whats with the FMIC on the honda. Turbo B16/18? Some might hate me hear for this but
LOL... Um, its actually a DART B18 block with a GSR crank, Crower Rods, JE pistons, Precision SC61 Turbo, some headwork and stock cams. It made 401 at the wheels on 15 psi and pump gas. The powerband is 5 to 9k its a blast to drive... but dont get caught below 5 - it might get beat by a school bus!
Its just really hard to make Fwd work at the track. I went 11.8 at 124 with a 1.9 60 on slicks with stock axles.
Anyway I finally got my C5 this past December - I'm lovin it! I picked up one of Andys kits and might put it on this coming weekend - cant wait. Its nice finally having something "grown up" vs the "boy racer" type car.
I did this and it helps a lot. You're going to have to loosen the bolts where the exhaust meets the h-pipe (a few full turns) and then loosen the bolts where the bufflers mount (a few full turns).
(On mine the driver side tip was too high and the passenger was too low.)
Get someone to lightly pull the tips up or down depending on what direction they need to be angled. Keep the spacers in on the side that is too high and pull down on the tips while someone is tightening the exhaust at the H-pipe.
Then lift up on the tips on the other side while tightening the the tips at the H-Pipe then of course tighten the bolts at the muffler end. They might not be perfect but it will be the closest thing to it without adjusting the H-Pipe itself!
Good Luck, I've done this trick twice and it worked for me!
11seccivic- Nice. A buddy of mine had a champ white integra type-r. A real one, but it got stolen like all the rest of the type-r's do around here It was a blast to drive. Oh well, good luck with the C5
