Default Electrical, computer or sensor

Just purchased my first vette. It's a 2001 and I believe it's a c5. Weird things are happpening. First the stealth system kept the car from starting, had that removed. Then the interior lights along with the maps light would come on while the car is parked and not running. The alarm sounds because it thinks that the door is open and it's closed. Instead of locking with the remote, I just use the key.
I get the door ajar message from the information center while driving and both doors are shut. Does this sound like an electrical problem or maybe the computer needs to be reset or could the door sensors be causing this problem. I have made the dealer aware and he has agreed to search for & correct the problem, but I am just curious if anyone else has experienced this same type of problem.

Thanks,

JR,

First of all, all 2001 Vettes are C5's. If you purchased it from a dealer and it was not an "as is" purchase, take it back and make them fix the problem. If not, lets start by reading the codes on your DIC. That's the little screen just above the steering wheel that says Corvette every time you start it. Also fill out your profile and tell us what modifications have been done to your car in your signature. It will help forum members to know more about your car so the can help you.

Welcome to the forum and don't forget to wave.

Took to Dealer: Easy fix...right door sensor.
