Default My 98 Supercharged Vert

Hey again guys.. I'd love to post some pics of my 98 I just bought. I'm also hoping to hear either here or via PM from other supercharged c5 owners. I want to stay way on top of the maintenance of this engine. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

For what it's worth, I've got an 85 4+3 vette, an 87 Modded Grand National, a 95 Viper (for sale) and now this 98 Vette. If you're considering a supercharger, but aren't sure -- stop considering it and do it. I've never felt a car pull like this through all of the gears. I was looking for a convertible, 6spd.. and was blown away that this one has that combo and the supercharger. It's ridiculous.. and I want to keep it that way. I'd post some pics.. but, don't know how.

talk soon,
jp

Congrats on the new FI Vette and open an account at photobucket.com and you will be able to post pictures. I love my FI 346 forged setup and it is sick on the street. What model supercharger do you have? I have a DS1C and I will change the head oil every 5k or so and I always check my belt especially after some boosted runs and no problems with mine

Plz post pics of both cars if you dont mind (GN & VETTE). I also have a modded grand national and a 98 vert. Would love to see a supercharged 98. Want to supercharge mine, but don't have the $$$ right now. If you ever decide to sale supercharger in the near future let me know. JOHN

Default supercharger oil and type.. and GN

Hey.. don't have updated pics of the GN.. I'll have to go outside and take some. About the supercharger lube.. what kind?.. and the drainplug seems hard to get to.. I was told by someone to suck the oil out. Where can I get a tool to do this?

Also, the only thing the car doesn't have that I want (I had it on a 2000 vette I had) is HUD. Right now.. the parts are a little expensive. I'm gonna wait until a setup goes up in ebay.

Use a syringe to suck the oil out. Looks like a procharger there and only use there oil. Just call them up and they will ship some out to you. Both of your cars are great looking rides

Default thanks man!!

I appreciate the help.. and the compliment.. That pic of the GN was BEFORE I broke the crank leaving work one day. New crank, cam, double roller timing chain, and more later.. it's all better. But, it's got about 400 horses - nothing compared to my new vette. It dynoed at 536 rwhp.

Hey, what's that black round thing with all wires coming out of it?? I've heard rumors about them, guess they were called distributors way back when , j/j, the GN was ahead of its time.

Very nice looking cars!!! now the real question.

Which one is faster?

If I were ever going to get a Viper it would be a 97. Too bad I can't bankroll one right now. lol

Default The 98 Vette

is by far, the fastest car I've ever driven much less owned. Very fast. All it really lacks is the HUD.. I'm going to try to retrofit.. when I find the parts at the right price.
