I just went out to get lunch a while ago and I (as I always do) ran the steering wheel all the way up in order to get out of the car with ease.
Well, I get in the car ready to leave and the damb steering wheel does not want to come down anymore! I pull the adusting lever back and nothing happens!
Is this problem mechanical, electrical, or the dreaded Column Lock issue.
It is mechanical or maybe manaical it happened to me drove to stealership like a fugging bus. They got it unstuck could not get it to repeat. It happened one time since I got it unstuck. Don,t remember I think I pushed up or sideways or just got lucky or maybe was not going to drive like a bus and didn,t give a **** what I did. Maybe some tech can jump in here.

My point exactly! Man I felt like I was driving the most lowrider ever 18 wheeler! It blows
I guess I'll take a look @ it this afternoon. Maybe when I get out of work to go home it will fix itself.

Please advice.
My car is a 1999 FRC.
....whether the wheel is up or down....get to "Tech Topics" (by opening the "Other" Icon in Corvette Forum) click on C5, then you will see a list of remedys for your C5...scroll down, there are 2 solutions listed: How to Unlock & To Unlock...either one works..
Had same problem. Happened when turning off/getting out. Think telescopic was moving when I let wheel tilt up fast. Hitting it did not resolve. But I ran the telescopic up and down and the tilt release handle took hold and wheel came down. So try moving telescopic up and down..
