Anyone ever had their key fob just stop working?
One day mine just stopped working. I bought a new battery, tried to re-train it etc. but it just doesnt do anything.
Do these things just stop working one day?
Any suggestions.......anybody have an extra one they want to get rid of?

To answer your question, yes, they just stop working.
Sometimes these remotes just wear out.
If the one you have is the original then your best bet is to buy a new one which 99.9% of the time solves the problem.

Has anyone tried programming a 2000 and newer FOB to there 97-99?
The remotes run 97-99, 2000, and 01-04. BUT, I have read on this forum where a 2000 remote works on 97-99, the only difference being there is no passive switch.

Did you try retraining both ways: outside the car and through the DIC?
Had a problem with one of mine on a '98. Gently cleaned the little circuit board with a swab and a little alcohol. Working ok now (knock on wood).
