IN SPRING TIME ,ILL BE CHANGING MY WAGON WHEELS FOR A SET
OF 2001 THIN SPOKES W/SENSORS ,IF I LEAVE THEM IN WOULD I HAVE PROBLEMS BY HAVING ALL FOUR IN ,OR DO I JUST RESET
THE CODE EVERY TIME I START THE CAR?
I am guessing you are talking about putting on wheels with the WRONG sensors. I believe if that is the case the car will continually be giving error messages and Low PSI messages to you..
I could be wrong, maybe others will chime in here.
A newer C5 would ignore the wrong or missing sensors and not give errors, but I belive the older C5's will act up....
If you dont have sensors or the incorrect sensors the car will figure it out and it will just XX out the tire psi and say "service tire pressure monitor system" or somthing like that
First of all, you are crazy not to use the tire pressure monitor system.
The sensors in the 2001 wheels are useless to you. So you should not have to pay for them. You should however buy New sensors for your car in the 97-00 vintage. They are expensive, but so is being stranded with a flat tire. Patch kits and compressor are great as long as you do not destroy the tire before you realize it is going flat.
With an early warning system, you will know you have a problem with a tire. when the tire reaches 25 psi you will get a warning that a tire is going flat, at this point you can stop and fix it or, add air to allow you to travel further...
If you do not have early warning your tire could get down to 10 psi before you notice it especially if it is a back tire.. If this tire is put the the test in a turn you could easily lose control, spin out and maybe get hurt or hurt someone else. You need a tire monitor system. If the tire goes flat while you are doing 60 it could destroy the tire.
Why not install new ones that have fresh batteries, yours are probably nearing the end anyways? They are comming down in price to., I think about $80. No brainer if you ask me... I hate getting bogus flat tire DIC messages.
tps
I understand ,my car has the original wheels /tire /sensors
and i just bought a set of 2001 w/t/s package ,so i gess
i just transfer sensors for now.

You do NOt want to use your old Tire pressure sensor... THey are at the end of their life. Many people have replaced their 2000 C5 tire sensors.. Your sensors could be 8 years old.. the sensors are usually made 6 to 8 months prior to the delivery date of your car... eg. if you have a 98, the sensors were probably made in 97. THey are all date stamped. In any event your sensor are at the end of their life.. I would not waste my time putting them in the new wheels because, in the next year you are going to have TPS failure.
