Default 2004 C5 Intake

I've been looking to purchase an aftermarket intake system (Y-shaped Dual Pipe System) for my 2004 C5. I've been looking on ebay, but mostly what I find says for 97-00 vettes. What is the difference, if any, between those years and 01-04? Will these not work on mine? Any input would be appreciated.

There is no aftermarket intake system that will provide significant power increase below 5000RPM. K&N is the only maker that states on their web site that their intake kit makes 11+HP at 5400RPM. So, basically, other than looks, such kits are worthless for a daily driver.

Default Good air intake systems are good for everyday

Yes, the MAF is slightly larger on the 2001 to 2004, both LS1 and ZO6. I have to disagree with sage666, most of the air intake systems make 10-15 HP at much lower rpms. Many of the systems do make more HP as the cars spped increases.

IMHO

I'm in the office so going by memory here, but I think the following were the major changes:

In 2001 there were several intake changes. A completely new higher flowing Intake Manifold, larger MAFS (from 74 mm to I think 85 mm), TB stayed the same at 74 mm. Also, incorporated the IAT (inlet air temp) sensor into the MAFS. On the 97-2000 intakes the IAT is a seperate component mounted in the aft end of the air bridge near the TB.

Hope this helps, others may have a better memory than I do.
