Hello All,
My brother-in-law has the following code on his 97 coupe. Can anyone help with a fix for this code? What must be done to fix the problem?
Powertrain Control Module P1545 A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit -C
Also, he has a new battery and a new altenator but his DIC only shows 12.9 volts and the car has a whine to it at low speeds (below 20 mph). Could any of this be related?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Obviously, the Air Conditioning Clutch (the clutch on the front of the air conditioning compressor) control circuit is throwing up the code. Check the electrical connections to the a/c compressor and the belt for the a/c compressor and its idler pulleys. Maybe take the a/c belt off and see if the compressor and the idlers are ok. One of these things is the likely source of the whine...

I don't know if they share the same belt but if there is a problem with the A/C clutch (which is suggested by the code). That could cause the alternator to spin more slowly...
fault is for the RELAY circuit.the pcm knows the hvac unit requested a/c but knows the compressor hasn't come on.possibilities-blown compressor fuse, low refridgerant, etc.i would heck the refridgerant weight first,if the stuff is low,the low pressure switch will keep the compressor from coming on[keeps he compressor from blowing up].the pcm will disengage the relay

Cool DPD. I have him check that also. Maybe I'll suggest he have a radiator flush and fill as well as check his fuses.
Thanks a million for the advice.
