Default z06 calipers

This may be a dumb question, but is there any difference (other than red color) in C5 Z06 calipers versus the stock calipers on my 2004 coupe?
thanks

The color only and that can be corrected (or colored to taste) with a minimal investment.

So true...I've seen the price for some calipers and wondered if they were mechanical better (i.e. bigger/more pistons, etc)...price is definitely higher. Will probably go the paint/powder coat route if I want color!

I'd say powder coat them. Better end result. Dont forget to do the brackets while you're at it.

By price do you mean that the red ones are cheaper. I bought all four, loaded (brackets and pads) brand new for $320.

Yep, that's about what I can find for a set...about $300. However, I can get my existing calipers/brackets powdered coated for about half that ($150), so if there isn't any advantage, I'll probably go that route.

Thats what I'd have done, but I needed my grey calipers for another car.

I've painted several sets with excellent results and endurance. $15 +/- for the DupliColor kit plus $6 for 2 cans of brake cleaner. The problem I see with powdercoating is the labor to remove and completely disassemble calipers. Gas to and from powder coater and then reassembly. You will also need a bottle of brake fluid to fill and bleed the brakes. Just my unsolicited opinion.

I was under the assumption that the Z06 rotors were larger and the calipers bigger. Well good luck and let us know the final results.
