I hate to ask a dumb question but I can't find the answer anywhere else.
A vette that I'm looking at advertises posi rear end. I know what that means, but do not know if that is a mod on the car or if that is standard.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I'll try not to ask too many dumb questions in the future.
Just dealer jargon to make the car sound better, just like ac,power windows,locks,keyless entry,ect... All standard options but the longer the list the better to the layman. Good luck with your purchace. And watch out for that mod fever, its easy to catch around here

I've often heard it stated on this board that there are no dumb questions; once in a while, some of the answers may make that catagory. Good luck with your new vette, check it out real good first.
Some people beleive that posi and limited slip are different. Posi the two tires are always spinning in the same rotation. The limited slips do not, when to turn the car the limited slip allows the inner rear tire to spin faster so you do not have rear chatter. The posi makes noise around a corner.
That is what I understand. Posi and Limited slip are different? Right?

It’s always been my understanding that “limited slip” the generic term for any traction increasing differential that uses clutches or cones to limit wheel spin.
Automotive manufacturers have “brand” names for their versions of limited slip differentials.
GM = Posi Traction
Ford = Traction Loc
Chrysler = Sure Grip
