During a track event yesterday my oil temp got as high as 279 degrees. The air temp was on the order of 95 degrees. I never got a "Check Gauges" warning, but I'm wondering how close I was coming to the max allowable temperature.
My oil temp hit 301 degrees and my coolant temp hit 258 degrees on Monday when I was participating in a lapping event at Waterford Hills roadcourse just outside Detroit. I was a bit worried about it so I came off the track. The car seems fine, and nothing overflowed or anything. Synthetic Oil takes a good beating.
I am happy to know I was still 18 degrees away from the warning light

Matt,
Did you get a Coolant Max Temp warning? That's supposed to come on at 240F, I believe.
