I would like to install an oil cooler. I have tried all combinations of these words in the search feature and get nada.... Can you point me to a thread that will help me with the installation of an trans oil cooler on my 2000 A4 coupe? I know many "net" Vettes have done this. Thanks!
Re: Help with transmission oil cooler install (carpe dm)
You mean an external unit (because the stock one's inside the radiator)?
I would have to check my pictures to check which lines to splice. You will need to place it in series but connected to the return line back to tranny.
I think other people here have it also, and may help
Re: Help with transmission oil cooler install (carpe dm)
BTW, guess I could have mentioned that I ran a Hayden Extra Heavy Duty Part# 679 in my Z-28. The dimensions are 3/4" x 11 3/8" x 11". It's recommended for Class A Motorhomes, towing up to 10,000 lbs.  Have MN6 in the Vette.
Worked great. My only suggestion: Wear some old clothes that you can peel off and throw in the dumpster.....because it is as I stated above, a messy install....at least for me.
Re: Help with transmission oil cooler install (Speed-Racer)
Speed-Racer,
Yeah, I could have done better, I suppose. But with head fimly implanted in ****, I wasn't too careful when determining which line was which.....I swear I didn't run the engine more that 2 seconds with them unhooked. :D :D Honest. :blueangel: But I found out what I needed to know.
