I was just washing my wife's newly acquired C5.....I noticed on the chrome wheels the weights are on the outside....this really looks tacky to me. On my 90 (see my signature) the wheel weights are glued on the inside of the wheel where they can't be seen from the outside.
Has anyone had their wheels rebalanced and put weights on the inside?
Yup. Did it to one of mine when I had a flat. I plan on approaching the dealer in a few weeks about refinishing or getting me new rims if the process of taking off the lead weights scratches the finish.
To properly balance the tire they should use weights on the inside and the outside of the wheel. That being said, the ones on the outside do look badly
What you want is a Dynamic Balance on a Hunter 9700 balance machine.
ON the C5 they will balance one wheel\tire combo at a time and put stick on weights according to where the computer tells them to...There are weights on the flat inside surface of the rim on 2 planes...in and out.

Re: C5 Wheels (WHRITZY)
Yup. Had mine done at a shop that uses the Hunter 9700. It gives what is referred to as a "Road Force" balance. It gives a more "real world" type balance by applying 700 pounds of force to the tire while it is spinning. They then used stick-on type weights inside the rim and pretty much out of sight. Costs a couple of bucks more but it's worth it.
Since you're in Houston, Can you tell me where you went to get the Balance done?
I'm in Pasadena and want to have mine re-balanced>
