Has anybody tried the Fram Airhog filters? I know that their oil filters are not worth running from all of the test results I have seen, but I have never read any comments about these air filters.
I have one in my C4. It has been almost 2 years. Fram claims higher air flow than K&N I don't see any difference vs a K&N....
I picked it up as an introductory special... At the time it was $20 cheaper than the K&N... which is the olnly reason I picked it.... I was in the shop to buy a K&N at the time.
Having bought it... i have no problems, no issues, no regrets.

There is a reason for that.... I always say I can not afford to buy anything too cheap...Having more flow means only one thing, less filtration... Those independent test surveys always conclude that Fram filters are on the bottom of the heap. I would never consider using them...seems Cheap and Walmart go hand in hand... I think Fram is all that Walmart sells. With filters you do not see the damage until way down the road...A C5 can go 200K with proper maintenance..cheap filtration can erode internal stability of any engine. You would never see the damage over a few years. Typically, cheap filters can prematurely wear out an engine buy 10 to 20 percent , which in the case of a C5 could be 20,000 to 40,000 miles. That could equate to 4 to 6 years of driving.
