Front End Squeak!!!!!
HELP!
I have been battling a front-end noise/squeak for the past six months and cannot find it. It sounds like a metal-to-metal squeak and I think I have it pinned down to the right front suspension area. The noise occurs when the front wheel comes into contact with a bump, and the noise is more prevalent when the suspension is set for the softest ride, it almost disappears in the comp mode. You can’t duplicate the noise when the car is in the static position only when driving.
To date I have done the following:
Checked all the fasteners in the front end of the car.
The front spring needed replacement and at that time I checked ball joints and all bushings.
Removed the sway bar and drove with it off
There is nothing else up there, the only item left is the shock and off the car it seems okay. Could it possibly be the culprit?
I’m looking for someone who has had a similar problem, could the problem be somewhere else and mega phoning to the front area?
HELP I’m going nuts, tell me about all your front end squeaks and solutions.
