Default 224/224 cam help

Hi..I installed a 224/224 .563 112 cam in my C5 a4 2.73 coupe about 3 months ago...

I had it tuned to idle at 800 rpm's but never had it dynotuned...

My other mods are ..

-bone stock 2002 ls6 heads
-vararam
-160 thermostat
-918 springs
-malloy push rods

I set my pcm to change gears at 6300 rpm's....

Some of my LS1 camaro buddies are telling me Ill be faster through the 1/4 mile if I set the shift point to 6500 rpm's..

One persons even suggesting 6800 rpm's...

How far can I safely raise the RPM's with my current set up and what do you tuners or 224/224 cam owners recoomend I set the shift points at???

I am using my diablo sport tuner to adjust the shift points.

I would recomend a dyno session and see were your power band is at. I really don't think you need to turn it so hard. The 6300 shifts is probably fine. There's no need to turn it way past your torque band the cars really not making time then.

I'm guessing you'd need to dyno your car to see where the cam power peaks at.

Get a dynotune first then worry about it.

The power drops off at 6000 RPM. Dont raise your RPMS limiter. It wont do you any good. See sig for numbers

I ams orry I mislead ya. I was thinking since it was a 346 cu in, and the cam was pretty good size for a small block that the 6500 rom shift point would be good. I was trying to also keep you from shifting into third rigth before the finish line and wasting time , as you lose just a little between shifts.
Youll be in 12's, especially if you get a tune by PCMforless.
