MTI Heads and Cam GP --- info inside---->
The valvetrain upgrade package includes SPINGS AND RETAINERS. These are already on the Stage II heads. No, it still does not add up.
At $200 for gaskets and head bolts, I may be being generous depending on their selection of factory or aftermarket parts.
cjones, we have them in stock from 97-2001 and are ready to ship.

Will I have to upgrade my clutch with the package+headers+intake(MTI)?
This puts me at $4999+$849(headers)+349(MTI intake), can I get a break on the intake price and header price?
Also what about a price for upgrading the timing chain/gears? $???
Since it seems an upgrade to exhaust is minimal for dollar to horsepower I may stay with the stock exhaust(at least for now to save money), opinions on this one.
Since I have a 2001 C5 I will not need to change the intake manifold, which is good, but my question is this: is the pulley a big horsepower gain or can I spend that money better elsewhere?
Finally if I wanted to put in a N2O system while the engine is a part which would be the best one to have MTI install?
Thanks
Lane

on the heads, they are $2795 not 2495
clutch hasnt been replaced yet, but more than likely will in a few months, if i keeep on beatin on it

Heh, I guess it is a good deal NOW.
$1950 for their S2 heads
$349 for a cam from Internet Racers Supply or $400 from Cartek.
IRS has the cam included in their h/c package. $1,799 includes cam, assembled heads, pushrods, gaskets, and head bolts.

They DID raise the price substantially on the heads.
Nothing wrong with that, its thier company but thats getting "really" expensive!
For those comparing the Cartek S2 heads with the rest of the markets S2 heads, they are using stock size valves in those Stage 2 heads and guys like ARE, MTI and MMS use bigger valves. Good for 10 more HP.

I don't mean to jump into another vendor's thread but I want to clarify a few comments made here.
WE DON'T USE STOCK SIZE VALVES. The stock valves are 2.00/1.55.
This is basically the same response given to a member of another forum.
The LS1 has a relatively small bore size and if a much larger valve is used it will be shrouded and hinder flow. Both dyno runs below are with 2.02/1.57 valves in a stock bore and CID. We pay ALLOT of attention to velocity in the runner for the intended application and our stage 1 and 2 heads are optimized for a stock CID LS1s.
Our stage 3 heads use the 2.055-2.080/1.6 valves to accommodate a larger bore along with more runner volume for the larger cube engines and is what we install on bigger all bore 382s and up engines.
I list everything that is done to our heads and what you should compare is what was done and is on the heads and not a name, stage1,2,3 etc. vs. another vendor's stage1,2,3. For example another vendor sells their stage 1 heads for $1,995 but has "similar" components and work as our stage 2 that we normally sell for $1,950 and their stage 2 heads for $2,795 is "similar" to our stage 3 heads that we sell for about $2,500 - $5,000 depending on custom work done ( Inconel valves, Titanium valves, larger runner volume for larger CID, etc.).
We, as the modifier of these heads reserve the right to call them what we want ( The Terminator package, The Big Mack package, etc.) and everything that is done to each stage is listed so there is no misunderstanding.
Julio.

Julio.
S1 uses stock valve sizes.
S2 bigger valves.
S3 largest valves made for really big motors.

your car will have similar power if ya get the LS6 intake (if you have an 01, ya already have it) ... and headers.
the M12 tranny in the Z06 makes for a little harder acceleration, would be like a MN6 car with 3.73 gears.....but if rwhp is the goal, you can be pretty damn close

hope that helps....and sure hate to see this muddied up with a pis$in match on another vendors goods :( :mad

MTI sounds like the deal!! If I had not already chosen Hennessey this is the way I would have gone (422). All the feedback so far sounds excellent and they seem to have some outstanding customer service!! :D
