Default Proper C5 6sp 1/4 mile launch

In the process of getting 5 average 1/4 mile runs prior to my Vararam install, I smoked my clutch disc. It's working okay now, however, I was feathering the pedal through 1st gear and when I shifted to second the pedal had about twice the play in it as I shifted and I noticed smoke from the clutch coming out the rear of the car and smelled the disc.
Do you guys simple dump the clutch and controll wheel spin with throttle or what?

supercar f1 tires I launch as high as 4200rpm at the track on the street its 2500 ish a fast let out of the clutch (slight feather works best) I pulled 1.83 60ft with 356 rwhp

on drag radials I can leave at 5200 or above but your cluch will not last long ( I have a powergrip) my 60ft didnot get any better with the BFG and 17x11 zr1 rims due to 3lb heaver per wheel and went .04 slower

I figur I did not have enough hp to overcome the new rubber to make them work, this year it wont be a problem with 200 more rwhp

Thats great 60 ft! I think there is a difference in tech between a c5 and a zo6 being 100lb lighter and a m12 over a m6 being the m12 has deaper first 3 gears

With a highly modified 2000 M6, I dump the clutch at 2500 rpm then feather it until it hooks up. Gets me in the 12's.

Will a stock rear hold up to dumping the clutch or even spinning the tired? I blew my rear spinnoing the tires on a wet road when I first got the vette. Now I'm leary of breaking the rear loose. How much abuse will stock output shaft take before breaking?

knock on wood, I have been driving my car "spirited" ( dont think I have ever not gotten on it taking it out) for 3.5 years and never had a problem. This includes 5200 rpm launches on DR ant the track.

What kind of sixty foot times are you seeing with 5200 RPM launches and have you broken any drivetrain parts? What mods have been done to your C-5? James
