Default Best Clutch NeeDeD!!

I have over 100,000 miles on my orignal clutch but it is time to replace it. I don't drive the car hard but do have some bolt-on mods. What is the least expensive clutch package I can get by with. I found a Luk built for GM part number 12570806 for 230.00 shipped. Any other suggestions?

Best Clutch for least money would be the LS6 or LS7 GM Assemblies in your application. Dont forget to change the slave and master and external bleeder while doing the clutch. Also, do the drill mod to your new slave

Either clutch will work fine and you will probably need a new flywheel and congrlations on 100K on your Vette

This FLYWHEEL package comes with flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc. It is disignated for 2001-2004 Z06. Is this a good buy at 230.00 shipped? I read that some people had bad luck with the "Luk" clutch. Also should I go with Z06 slave and master as well? Thanks so much, this is a big purchace and I only want to do it once!

the Luk clutch is OE and a very good set. Mallett feels that it is as good as any and told my friend as much. We recently replaced the clutch on his 99 Mallett which he drives hard and has autocrossed for 5 years and it still looked excellent. It had only worn .060" since new. Do the slave cylinder and install the remote bleeder for ease of service. We also installed a fidanza aluminum flywheel which allows the engine to "spool up" much faster than the heavy stock unit. If you decide to stick with the OE style flywheel that sounds like a good price. We paid $475 with the Fidanza

There is nothing wrong with going with the 01-04 Z06 clutch package for someone who got 100k on the stocker. I would upgrade the master and slave at the same time though

What upgrades for the master and slave are best. . The same Z06 to match the clutch? Any ideal where the I could get the best price. I am building this one piece at a time . .The labor is what is going to hurt. I am told if I supply the parts it will be around 600 bucks. Is that in the ballpark?

The LS-6 clutch will work great with stock HP, and if you can get a deal on it so much better.

Order from Gene Beans they usually have the best price. I put in the Z06 slave and master. Some will say to get the remote bleeding slave, but I had no issues with the Z06 setup

The slave is Z06, the remote part is an extension hose you can buy for easier access to bleed clutch, great idea.

Thanks for the info guys. I saw some kits in Ecklers also include throw out bearing and pilot bearing. That's about all I will need, right? No hidden cost after that?

Thanks,
