questions about HTPP programer on 98-99 C5?? automatic
he thought thier was somthing in the computer holding him back from "brake torqueing" the car. is this true? if so can it delete this? he said the ASR was off.
how much can he adjust his car with the hypertech programmer?
thanks for the help
He may be talking about torque management. It's sort of unclear as to whether or not this is an 00 issue only or not. Disabling traction control (ASR in C5 parlance) should be all that is needed to power brake. Some have reported having difficulties though (some apparently even when the TM features have been deleted through custom programming.) I can't comment on this directly myself as I've never had any problem power braking w/ TC off in my 98. You can do anything about the TM features with the HPP3 in any case.
As far as the capabilities of the HPP3, you can:

use their engine tuning (timing and fuel adjustments)

select lower fan on/off temps for use with lower temp stat

raise the engine rev limiter

adjust shift points and shift firmness

adjust tire height

adjust for different axle ratios (mine only allows selection among the factory options)

reprogram back to stock
It's not a bad deal, particularly if you can score a used one, to get you by until you're ready for enough reprogramming to justify custom work.
