Ripper Install Question?? Stops or Not?
Just got my Ripper today... was reading the B & M instruction sheet and had a question about the shift stop adjusters..... I think I read somewhere in the forum that it is better NOT to install the stops??? What's the real scoop? :chevy

I've got the Rippper.
I didn't do any adjustments. I just put it in and drove. It is STIFF. I hope you like racing, becuase if you don't, you may not like the shifter. It is the drag strip where the ripper shines. I haven't missed third since I got it.
Good Luck

There are no stop adjustments on the Ripper model that ships currently. There was an older model that did have adjustments, and they may still be on the generic Ripper model. But there are no stop adjustments on the current C5 Ripper.

Re: Ripper Install Question?? Stops or Not? (XmentalPilot)
As has been said before, no stops on the model shipping now. I was also confused by the instructions.
One adjustment you might want to check involves the key that is on the stock shifter. With the Ripper installed, bolts not tight, and in neutral, slip the key into the hole at the front of the shifter. You might have to move the shifter forward or backward to get the key into the hole. On mine I didn't have to move it at all. Now tighten the bolts. This centers the shifter. Remove the key and store it someplace where you can find it if ever needed again. The stock shifter had a place for storage.
The shifter will be stiff but loosens up over time. Change the shift know and it will get even shorter. Very good mod, you won't be disappointed.
