Default headlight issues???

alot of you know i just finished my rebuilder, the question i have is this-- when i have my lights on low beam and hit the hi-beam stick back they come on with the low-beams but when i push it forward the h-beams come on and the low beams go out--is this the way it works??thanks in advance--mg

GM does the same thing on the full size pick-ups. Painless Wiring makes a relay kit to make all the lights be on when in the high beam mode. The part# for the relay kit is 30802, about $22.00 from Jegs. The wire color codes on the pick-ups and C-5's are the same, its a simple four wire hook up. Just bought one for my car over the weekend, have not installed yet. Thinking of mounting it inside the battery box area, and tapping into the harness in there, with the battery box cover on, you'll never know its there till you turn your high beams on.

thanks larry, i have the spectrewerks non-pop ups and wondered if there was a problem with them!1 ill be ordering that kit you mentioned--
