Default Re: Help - Front Suspension - Help (proexpert)

If you're talking about the actual lowering bolt, they are not torx bolts... just a 10mm socket or open end wrench is what's needed...

If you're talking about the lower control arm bolt, I'm not familiar with those...
BUT, instead of doing that....
You can drop the upper A-arm by removing the 4 bolts on the top side where it bolts to the wheel well (near the top of the shocks)... The whole A-arm will then drop down out of the way...

Then.... You can put another (small) jack under the spring (protecting the spring with a wood block or something) & jack the spring up to relieve the tension on it. With the tension off the spring, the lowering bolt will turn VERY easily... You should be able to turn it gently with pliers & not damage the threads... some will even turn by hand. This is how I removed mine.

this pic... you can see the upper A-arm dropped down & swung down out of the way, and you can see 2 of the 4 bolts at the end of the a-arm that were removed...

Some more pix here may help... http://www.2phast.com/lower.htm
