Thanks to all of you for your advice! I think I have found a middle of the road alternative! One of the benefit of the military on this installation (ft campbell) is an auto crafts shop. They have hydrolic lifts AND instructors there in case I need help. Saves me a little $$ and I still get to say I did it myself! I just left NAPA with the gold filter and Mobil 1 synthetic 5W30 oil... i'm off!
Thanks again for ALL your support!

Thanks to all of you!! I have printed out all of your tips to save for later! I just returned from the auto craft shop and with the help of 2 of the guys there, I did it!!! Hydrolic lift and all! I even cleaned and re-installed the air filter ( i have one of those K&W filters and the cleaning kit!) Yea!! Now who's the man?!
Thanks again for all your tips and PATRIOTISM!!

I use a nail and drive a hole in the oil filter to let it drain before removing it. I always make a mess when I try to remove a full oil filter.
What a good tip! When I used to change the oil years ago in my 77 vette I would always drop the filter into the pan of dirty oil no matter how hard I tried to hold onto that slippery thing and the oil would spash all over the driveway. But in my defense I would do the oil change with no jack at all. With a C3 you can actually scoot under the car without lifting it at all. (couldn't dream of doing that with my C5) But it wasn't pleasant when big flakes of rust fell off of the exhaust and into my eyes! By the way - I'm female - you could probably tell that from the whiny remarks.

All my girlfrieds are from your "family" though! Remember Greg Coker and "meat"?.... anyway, thanks for reaching out..Maybe we'll pass you on the road down there at Rucker!

Hey Jen,
We should be coming for the WONZA, we were there last year but only for the picnic. We were part of those "old people" standing around in the food line as the bikes came back in.
Who could forget Greg!? What a small world! We'll have to make sure we drive "Lola" (that's my baby's name) to the picnic this year! It's not a Harley, but it's prettier! --and safer on 41a!! See you in a few months!
