I have been looking all over for any information on aftermarket flywheels for an A4. What I have found is I can't call it a flywheel because it's an auto and i can't call it a flexplate because thats attached to the TC at the rear. So my question is what do i look for?
Any auto guys swap out their stock flywheel out for an aftermarket one? If so which one?
My car has the WHOLE driveline out and in pieces so atleast that is done, all i need is a few parts and i can reasimble it.

well to make a long story longer, it all started with the starter i was breaking em way too often. so while i was doing the third starter i figured i would just pull the driveline out and put a better tranny in because it started slipping on the 1-2 shift pretty often as well(full fluid and all), so i hooked up with a buddy of mine who builds some nasty auto trannies and he built me one to install. after pulling the torque tube off i noticed there were a few broken teeth on the flywheel i decided to stop for the day and search for a4 flywheels and can't find one.
Are you subtly telling me just throw an O.E. in there? I figured for a few $$ more i can get a better one that relieves roatating mass and fix the starter problam all at once. No good? anyway thanks for atleast replying and inquiring instead of moving on.

the yank driveplate is usually what i find too but it is the wrong item that is the one that bolts to the torque converter at the rear of the driveline. i need the one that bolts to the crank. Will a flexplate that bolts to an fbody work? they are made for the ls1 but i don't think it is right.
I have not run across anyone who has changed the auto flywheel. I would be carful about using one that was not for a vette. They could be balanced for the vette ls1. I would call ECS or Andy at A&A for an answer.
