The thin 5 spokes are commonly referred to as Y2K cause that's the year they came out. 2000 were forged, subsequent years are spuncast.............

The factory high-polished wheels remained the same (same forged thin spoke) through 2004.
Concerning the base (silver painted) wheels, 2000 was the only year of the painted forged thin spoke. The base wheels became cast in 2001, and had a noticibly thicker spoke compared to the original 2000 design.
