Default help with kook headers

two questions 1. my local speed shop said when installing kooks long tube 1 3/4" headers on 2000 C5 they install through the top and not from the bottom up is this true? 2. they are going to use mandrel bend parts for install does that make a difference?

I am not sure but with kook headers 1 3/4" long tube and a set of race cats with using their own stainless steel 3" piping with mandrel bends total out with labor at 2400 which is about 400 more then two others using American racing header system because that system is all stainless and kooks headers are stainless but the rest of the piping is coated steel
