Default 19's all the way around

You folks that are running 19's all the way, what size tires are you running that DO NOT kick in the trac.Cont? 2002 thru 04 are the same, as far
as T/Control , are they not?

Replaced the rears, and fine again.
Good point, my drag radials do not have the amount of tread that the fronts do, so they may be .1" smaller or something... Still something to consider it trying to run the same size all the way around, if you wear the rears down before the fronts - you would most likely still have this issue.

There are plenty of people with all year C5s running GS wheels with the same diameter tire all the way around. I have never heard of any of them having a problem.

I have found on certain tires it is best to check the tire mfgr's specs. The tires are not always the same diameter the calculator provides. They can be as much as a couple of tenths off. Just goes to show standards are not always followed exactly.

FWIW, Bill, when I'm running the GS wheels and the same size tyres as you, TC does kick in around 68 MPH for me. I've seen others mention it too. It's moot though, as most people would have turned it off with that setup anyway.

As you say, it's most likely due to the difference in manufacturers specs and it's not really an issue in the real world either.

On C5's, the traction control is more forgiving than on the C6 when it comes to tire size (wheel size is not relevant). The TC is measuring the relative spin rates of the fronts to the rears and the car's speed, and this in turn (in a non-skid situation) is dictated by the relative diameters of the tires, not the wheels. Clearly running fronts with greater diameters than the rears will trip TC; probably 1/2" higher rears will be ok. The cure is to turn off TC - that's it. On my C6Z06, the TC algorithm is very unforgiving, and I have to run all the time (at speeds >80) with TC off when I have my track tires on the car (Nitto NT555RII's, 285/35/18 (25.91")- 305/35/18 (26.30") since the .4" difference is apparently not enough.

I think it was hardtop Corvette was telling me that the 245/35/19 were 25.8 tall. If I went to a
235/35/19, how much shorter would it be??
I thank you for your assistance.

I think it was SMOOTHFRC that said my 245/35/19's were 25.8 tall. How tall will a 235/35/19 be?

245/35/19 = 25.75"
235/35/19 = 25.48"
