Default absolutely nothing DEAD please help

First of all I like to say that everyone here has helped me more than you know from these threads. This is my first thread that I am posting because I can't find any that match. So thanks for all the past help.

My QUESTION: Last night I drove my car pulled it in the garage as always. Woke up today to go out and the car was completely dead I mean dead, no lights, no radio, no brake lights, nothing. Turn the key and no DIC not even any noise. Have no clue and never seen this before. This is whats been happening:

1. about the past month I have noticed that the lights would dim when braking and I would get a flickering of the radio and ac display as well.

2. My battery blew up at the positive term about 2 months ago and I replaced it with a new delco and cleaned the cables as well.

3. My voltage read over 14 when I replaced the battery but in the last couple of days it has been about 12 to 13.

4. About every 2 months my DIC will say "charging system fault" I think thats what it displays or very close to that. But nothing seems to be wrong. If I shut the car off and return everything is fine.

5. I checked the battery and its fine but I still have it connected and I notice that in one thread it said to disconnect but I want to make sure before I do this if someone says something first.

6. I have a recall that came yesterday in the mail and it is for the colunm: 04006 ELECTRONIC COLUMN LOCK SYSTEM
So I went to see if my steering wheel was locked and its not (with no key in it) I turned it to see if I could get it to lock and it wont so I don't know if the recall is causing all of this.

7. My company isn't doing the best so I don't want to take it to a dealer and pay $120 an hour not to mention that I have to change my Oile Pressure Sensor under the intake. You know how they are they try and always fix it without your permission or come up with a million problems that need to be fixed. I rather do it all my self then I know for sure it was done and done right if you know what I mean. Plus I don't want to pay to have it towed to them also.

So if anyone can please give me some advice I would highly appreciate it. Thanks Anthony from Chicago

PS I don't know if I did this right so if not my email is gymrat_69@yahoo.com

Sounds like bad alternator to me too.
BTW, oil pressure sensor is pretty easy to change. You just need to pull the intake.

Thanks guys, I will pickup one up today and change it out. What I dont understand is the battery is fine and charged all I do is put in the new altenator and the car will start right up. I thought it would be more than just that but I will try it and let you know thanks again.

Well I replaced the altenator and it started right up. Thanks guys for your help, I really appreciate it. I was over looking the problem and would have never thought that the altenator would cause that issue. Every thing works even better. Now I need to pick up my Oil Pressure Sensor tomorrow and change that. So thanks to both of you.
