I plan on using a 2 post lift at a local auto hobby shop with my C5 to change the oil. I have already purchased the rubber lifting pucks. My question is where should the posts line up with my C5? Should the posts be in the middle of the two lifting points (front and rear)? I'm also concerned that the holes (in which I will place the lifting pucks) are not exactly close to the front (and/or rear) tires. It seems that the slots are rather close together. Will this cause a problem for this type of lift?
I had issues lifting mine with a 2 post lift. I had to do something clever. The feet of the posts extended too far under the undercarriage. I had to put wood on the lift posts so that the lift points would actually touch the pucks. I had to remove the lift feet off the post lift so that it would not squash the underbody.
I also had to drive the car up onto some wood blocks to get the height up to slide the posts under. All in all, it was a pain to do, but it is OK once its up.
JT-C5, I'll check it out, but it looked to me like the two arms extending from the post should be able to fit under the car and then under the pucks without having to drive up on wooden blocks. But then again, I won't know until I drive the car there and check it out. What about the line up? Should the posts be lined up about a foot or so behind the rear view mirrors?
