Default Help with LG cams

Can someone please take a look at this page and translate it into something understandable?

http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog...oducts_id=1509

What do those numbers mean? What's the difference between LSA 112 and LSA 114? Does anyone have LG's G5X2 or G5X3 cams?

That's a pretty complicated question. Try www.ls1tech.com Look in the LS1 Internal Engine section. There is a sticky at the top with a very good discussion regarding cams.

Good Luck

The duration figures indicate 'how long' the valves are open (Intake and Exhaust) in crankshaft degrees. Typically these numbers are reported/measured when the valve is opened more than .050". The lift figures indicate 'how far' the valves will actually open (i.e. the up and down travel of the valve). These numbers are typically reported with an assumed rocker ratio. For example, the stock rocker ratio is 1.7:1. So, for every inch of camshaft lift, the valve will actually move 1.7 inches. LSA stands for lobe separation angle and indicates the distance between the intake and exhaust lobes on the camshaft itself.

Do a search, and you will find plenty about how all of these attributes work together. Here are some links:

The G5X3 on a 112 lsa will have a rougher idle, but will come in hard a few hundred rpm earlier - tougher to tune on an A4 car. The 114 lsa has a smoother idle (still an aggressive lope) and pull a little longer at the top of the rev range (6000-7000rpm).

Both cams are very strong runners, with or without ported heads.

I have LG's G5X1-E cam (114lsa) and love it. Close to stock drivability too ! With heads/cam/headers I got 447rwhp/427rwtq.... Well over 500 at the crank ! I can break the stock Z06 tires loose at any time under ~50 mph !
