Default Car Bucking after Vararam install

I did a search and saw this only happened to one other guy that I found. Was wondering If anyone else has come across this problem? The car runs great, its when Im decelerating from 45mph to 40mph this is always around 1100 rpm the car starts bucking bad. You can hear it in the exhaust to like its missing but the car is definetaly on all 8. It did this for a couple of days and now that its colder its starting to die out at a stop. Any suggestions? Should I disconnect batt. and try to run it again at normal driving speed. The car throws no codes.

I would recommend that you disconnect the battery for one hour. After that reconnect the battery and drive the car at PART THROTTLE for 50 miles to let the computer relearn its fuel needs. Do not go to WIDE OPEN THROTTLE.

The underhood 16 ,23 fuse removal re-insert worked for me.Think it's listed as idle relearn in the tips section.

I found my car bucking just a little bit today but it was also very windy out today. It had not done that before (I've had the Vararam on there for over two months now)

I wonder if the high wind was causing the MAF to get confused?

Just drove the car for about 50 miles on highway after disconnecting batt. The car is still bucking but it now does it at different speeds only on decelleration. Checked all connections from vararam to TB no leaks. Did some of you guys have to get an aftermarket tune on yours after vararam? It didn't seem do be doing it so much and this time the car didn't die out maybe just need more time driving it at part throttle?

heres a thought. what air filter are you using with the vararam? If its an oil type filter, there might be oil on you MAF sensor.

have the green filter in it. this might be a dumb question but there is no direction on that filter right? I found now arrows on mine and both sides looked the same

I would double check to air leaks between the MAF sensor and the throttle body, also maybe possible clean the MAF sensor.

You're probably driving an automatic, right?

When I first installed my Vararam (foam filter)on my 6spd, the RPM's would surge and plummet close to stalling at idle with the clutch down, but ran smooth when accelerating. It lasted about a day and seemed to 're-learn', no problems since.

Good luck.

Here is what my car is doing.
I have a surge problem with the car just off idle and it is not a miss just a surge. The car only has 9,000 miles and is a 2002 coupe. The only mod is the Vararam I put on about 3 month's ago. When I installed the Vararam I drove it about 10 miles then put it up for the winter.A week ago it was nice and I needed to make a short trip so took the vette.Put about 200 miles on it and noticed when we left that just off idle in town it has the surge or when the cruise was on and going down hill it would surge but not at any other speed. It act's like you are pumping the pedal.Could it be the switch on the pedal or the motor on the TB or the TPS?Help me out guys! Thanks

After reading and searching I will look for a air leak and pull fuses 16 & 23 and see if that helps. Thanks
