I can't answer your question about the difference in mileage but if the mileage I get with my Z06 is any indication, as long as you don't drive with a heavy foot the sticker mileage is conservative.
You'll get those numbers. I range from 15 to 20 in the city and from 28 to 31 on the highway. The reason for the range is my driving behavior and the effect of traffic and such. Isn't it amazing? :smash:

Re: 2001 mileage on sticker (rdb)
I'm quite impressed with the mileage.. I got 26.6 MPG driving down to Austin and back last weekend at an average of 85-90 MPH. Then again, I got 12 MPG the weekend I ran autocross. Go figure, eh?
Not only does your gas mileage go down with the perf. axle but so does the speed at which you accumulate mileage because your wheels are turning faster!
Dont pick your gears based on fuel mileage, you will find yourself regreting the performance loss with a 2.73. All of the people I have talked to hate the weak exceleration. Get the 3.15 the mileage wont be far off but the performance difference is noticeable. If you want good gas mileage buy a Toyota, if you want to buy a Corvette dont skimp on the power or some guy in an F-body will make you feel foolish some day.:cry
FYI my first Vette was a 3.15 and I couldnt wait to get a 3.42 gear set. :yesnod:
Mine's a 2001 A4 3.15 and the sticker says 18 city and 26 highway. I've only got 700 miles so far, so I can't really comment on the real world numbers yet.
