Default DTE HP Differential Identification (photo)

FYI for everyone~
As of today, 3-15-2006, we will now be custom-tagging our purpose built, heavy duty differentials with our own personalized build/name plate for every single differential that is built here. It will include contact/identification information of DTE, as well as the differential part number and specific serial number of the unit permanantly stamped on the build plate. The serial number is also embedded deep within the differential and is tagged to the name of the original purchaser.

We're doing this for two reasons mainly..

One is to put a professional, finishing touch on our high-quality, premium product and the other is to protect our customers (or potential customers) of fraudulent activity of someone else trying to pass off selling another differential online that claims to be ours, when it is in fact not.

Previous differentials built by DTE will have the original Getrag tag on it, but it's modified with the correct part number idenfication. Additionally, there are still internal serial number identifications placed within the unit also.

The implementation of this new specific company name tag and extensive serial numbered identification is just another example of our dedication and commitment to providing you with a very high quality product that consistantly sets us apart from the rest.

Happy motoring!

Best Regards,
DTE

Nice..
My 12/06 rear still has the Getrag tag on it, but I just changed to the new Redline 75/140 rear gear lube oil you recommend now!

Again, great professional looking tag!

What advantages does the 75/140 oil have over the old Redline 75/90?

There are quite a number of reason why we switched and they have been discussed on here recently. Oversimplified, it's because of it's ability to withstand much higher differential temperatures than the old 75w/90 could.

We wish you the best in repairing your transmisison, but please, with all due respect, don't hi-jack this thread about our product with your quest to find a transmission shop to repair your car. They are not related. We hope you understand and thank you.

Respectfully,
DTE

Default Differential/TC Upgrade

I have an 03 with A4 Trans and 3.15 Differential. I am wanting to give my car more pep. I drive my car on the street and auto-cross. I am wanting to upgrade the header/cats, differential, and TC. Over timd I am going to do a head and cam mod to improve RWHP.

Any recomendations on a good combination of DIF gear ratio and TC. Also should I have a trans cooling sys installed at the same time

Randy

The 3.73 ratio has been our most popular gear of choice from the automatic guys and providing the PCM calibration is performed correctly for the engine & transmission after the upgrade, you'll not see a drop in fuel economy. In fact, you'll see 1-1.5 MPG increase, as we do here with our in-house installations w/ our calibrations.

The T.C. we use for most street-driven vehicles usually falls between the 3000-3200 stall range with the STR accurately configured to your powertrain combination.

Excellent acceleration increase, smooth operation, no fuel economy reduction and a *HUGE* SOTP pull from a roll....!

Very nice combination for the street.

Does anyone have a tuner that can install the new Dynotech Diff/TC units and calibrate everything. I am located in the St Louis, Mo area.

I purchased and installed your stage two 3.15 Differential for my 2004 A4 about 15 months ago. I am running about 475 HP with FI. How often should I change the gear oil. I do run it quite hard.

Our differential care/maintainance instructions included with your differential purchase state to change the lubricant every 12,000 miles, or more frequently depending on how hard the car is driven or if it is raced in any fashion.

Think of changing the diff. lube like this~ It's *MUCH* cheaper to change the lubricant a few times a year if you run the car hard, than to neglect it to the point of pre-mature differential failure. Remember, the differential does not hold much oil and the oil is not filtered internally either, so the more often you change it, the longer the internal component life will be. Just change the oil often like you would a HP engine that sees hard use and it will last you a *LONG* time.

DTE

What will your rpms be while cruising at 70 mph with 3.73s and a 3000-3200 stall?

Thanks.
