Brass Headlight Gears "Look"
email to rodney@rodneydickman.com.
I just got off the phone with Rodney Dickman, the gentlemen that many of us have bought our brass headlight gears from, and explained to him that after installing my new Brass gears and using the supplied epoxy, that the covers worked themselves loose from the motor case after a few months.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
After speaking with him, he's concerned and wondering how many of us that have bought these gears and installed them are having this problem, he told me that he has sold numerous sets of these gears over the past few years and that not very many people have run into this problem, that he is aware of. And if we have, he will look into the matter and find a better way for the covers to be mounted back to the case. He spoke about different urethane epoxies or possibly even a metal plate that he could design if needed that would attach to the case itself.
Let me know, as I will be talking to him again within the next couple of weeks to give him some feedback.
Thanks
John
Hey John! I just saw this post.. I am ready to order 2 from Rodney.. I had this aweful grinding during the Corvette Challenge Saturday.. Turns out it was my driver side gear.. I am just gonna fix em both..
I just pulled it and looked at it.. Yep..busted to schit... I am not gonna do the Flip the gear 180 degree fix.. I want to do them both correctly..
I love Rodneys solution ot the cover.. In fact, I just came up with a similar idea before I even read this post all the way through... I was considering putting a little holding clip on each of the 3 bolts.. Looks like Rodney nailed it with a one piece unit

Order from Rodney great product. when you get them take out the motors and bring them by, you can clean them and epoxy them and put them back on with the new piece that Rodney designed, awesome.
By the way had lots of fun last night at the Challange, you and I both need to get some tires. Exept for my nap in the Semi Finals, it was a blast
John
