Ok, I'm not a complete idiot, but what the heck is the zip tie mod. I understand that it is concerning the stock air box, but how is it completed. I guess if anyone has photos that may help too...
Its removing the air box cover and straps and zip tieng the air filter and cartrage to the back cide of the air box. What you can do instaid of zip tying is just cut a big a$$ hole in the middle of the cover. You can just barly see the zip tys in this pic. I'm sure others will chime in with better pix

I just zip tied my intake, my butt dyno isnt very good but it seemed to have more power in general especially low-end. I've just gotta get the hood seal before I drive around in the rain now.

There's a string going on here today called "Honker, Vararam, Stinger, Blackwing musings" that covers some of what you might be interested in, but here's one zip tie modification which I did with a K&N filter:

All you need is a piece of bulb-type weather stripping. You can even do it with the flat stuff. Search in the C5 general section and you will find a good Do It Yourself Hood Seal that cost about $5

Don't waste your time. Did track testing on this mod, here's the results:
I've heard a lot of people say there is a good gain. I couldnt really tell as the power differnece would be minor anyway, but I find it hard to believe there would be zero change.
