Painting C5 Brakes?
I'd like to paint the brake calipers on my C5. I'd like to do red or black. What type of paint should I use? Anyone have any ideas for accurately masking the "Corvette" lettering?

Folia-Tec makes a high temp caliper paint in red and black (among other colors). It is a 2 part epoxy paint that is brushed on with a small brush and it works great. It's about $40 for the kit and can be found in the Forum Mall. You can also use High temp spray paint, but you have to mask off the whole car to avoid getting overspray all over it. All you do is paint the caliper (letters and all) and when it dries, use a Dremel tool or a sanding block to take the paint off of the top of the raised letters. This also shines them up and makes them stand out.

You can use plain Rustoleum paint. It's a simple job, but it takes several coats to get a nice rich color. Use the drying time to clean & polish your wheels!
