It seems that all the superchargers out there for the C5 are super reliable if they are set up correctly. I've had the Magnacharger and I currently have the ECS Paxton. They are both great setups. The only one that people are having problems with is the ATI procharger system. So take your pick, Magnacharger(needs a different hood), ECS Paxton($6499) or A&A Corvettes Vortec($5500), both use stock hood and come with fuel pump, belt, and extras needed for the install... Do a search over in the Forced induction section. There are a lot of threads on your options...You should start with figuring out what your total budget is first, supercharger+guages+install+tune....

Well said Chris and also even a used DS1C from A&A like I have will also work just fine if installed properly and tuned
I've got about 1500 miles on mine (since August 05) and zero problems (except for traction dammit). Count on upgrading the clutch, rear end, output shafts, tires eventually. It's the only way if you want to actually USE the power. I'm starting this "second phase" now.
I had a cam done originally..just something mild as the car was my DD until last year and didn't want the worry of big cam issues...so when I had the chance I went FI with the same cam...not a blower cam which is hurting me a bit on power but saved me some $$$ and while I was already spending alot I didn't want to try and slide another $1k or so by the wife IF...I say IF...I do anything else with this car it would be heads and a different cam....etc, etc to crank up the boost a bit...ok a new motor With the new Z on the way I think that any more mods will be a ways off
Longevity depends on how much boost you are running. At 5 lbs, very few problems on a stock engine. Changing the pulleys and getting more boost can be expensive. On a stock engine the #7 piston is prone to have land probems. Forged pistons and O-ring the gaskets are your best bets.
