Default BFG KDWs vs. KDW2s

Well, it's about time to buy new tires and I need some thoughts. I currently own BFG KDWs and I have been pleased with this tire. Good tread life, good handling, and at a good price. I am thinking of getting the same tires, but I have also seen the KDW2s. Only problem is that the KDW2s come in different tire sizes than stock (I currently have stock wheel sizes). My questions that I hope you can help me with is as follows:

On the KDW2s, on the 18 inch rears, I have a choice of 285/40 and 275/35. On the 17 inch fronts, I have a choice of 245/40 and 255/40. Which combination would you suggest? There are some other sizes out there, but these seem to make the most sense for stock size wheels. I am afraid the 275/35 might leave too much gap in the wheel well, what do you think? Then again the 285/40s bother me because I am losing some gearing (even though its only a little). Decisions, decisions, decisions. Should I just stay with the regular KDW? If the KDW2 is better, what size tire would you suggest? Thanks for the help!

255/40/17 front 295/35/18 rears. this is currently whats on my z06 wheels and will fit your wheels. i cant remember but i think a 295 is biggest you can go on the 10inch rim. bfg doesnt make a front in z06 specs yet so i opted to go the size smaller.

i just tell myself they make the car faster(less rolling resistance)

Since you have the 17x8.5 and 18x9.5 wheels, I'd suggest the 255/40 fronts and 285/40 rears
You could however step the rears up to the 295/35's and you should still be ok.... Many guys put this size tire on the 9.5" wheels, I personally would not, but I know many have with no problems.

Click for spec sheet ====> BF Goodrich KDW's

Of course you can still get the KDW origional tread design in your OEM sizes
