I need to take off just the heads on my 2000 CORVETTE, anyone have a tech page for this? On LS1HOWTO.com it covers heads and cam install, but I need something that is more specific to just the heads, I know I don't need to remove everything (radiator, power steering rack, etc) to remove a head. Any help would be great.
I've done it a few times. You'll still need to drain the coolant and pull the manifold and headers off. You should be able to do it in a couple of hours since you can leave the rad, rack and accesories in place.

Yeah, I hope to be able to do it in a couple of days...coupl eof hours thing is if I was more fimiliar and not the "better to be safe than sorry" kind of guy.

As Patches & Y2kvert4me said, drain coolant, remove alternator, loosen all the PS bracket bolts (it can be done it just takes patience), unbolt headers at head and unbolt from front bellhousing (no need to drop more than that), remove coilpacks and valve covers, remove rockers, remove pushrods, unbolt heads following reverse torque sequence.
Follow LS1HowTo.com instructions where appropriate.

Thanks, that was the plan. There is no threat in loosing power steering fluid right? I am just loosening things, I don't think I need to disassemble any of the power steering. I am just prepping right now.
I CALLED LIVERNOIS and if I have a bad valve (I am certain I don't) they told me it is not covered under any warranties, because the STAGE 1 heads are consider race heads. And I have just over a 1,000 miles on this setup.
I'm not sure who you spoke with, but we stand behind our products. If there is indeed a problem with our workmanship or a valve give me a call and we'll inspect it and I'll make sure the problem is resolved at no cost to you.
Without actually hearing the car, the first thought that came to my mind when you said ticking was a lifter.

Rick, thanks a bunch for the reply...the lifter is what I am digging for, but I called to ask about the heads and if it turned out to be a valve does LIVERNOIS swap the head. He told me of your warranty on your race parts and I wasn't aware of that (have since read that and understand), but this car has not been to a track or autocross, just a DYNO for tuning and has less than 1500 miles on them, so I was shocked about the response. I really think that if it is anything internal it will be a lifter, the valve train sounds very normal. Was a bit struck by the call I had this morning.
Found a really loose sparkplug and the tips on three of NGK plugs. Could this be the reason? We will soon find out.
I am going to put the car back together and see if this was the reason. THRUNDERRACING.com believes that this would be it...possible compression passing by. The plug was really really loose, I could turn it both ways with my fingers. I am working on it now.
